The Press Guardian & The Clock: 1942

If you enjoyed our modern take on these two classic pulp comic characters you'll like this comic that tells a story with the original The Press Guardian & The Clock set in 1942

The Clock

The Clock was created by George Brenner in 1936. He's considered by many to be the first American masked comic book hero, and is partial inspiration for The Spirit.

The Press Guardian

The Press Guardian was created in 1940 by the great Mort Meskin. The Press Guardian was the defender of the freedom of the press!

After 85 years we felt it was time that The Clock and the Press Guardian got to fight some actual Nazis and why not do it together? These are two amazing heroes of the golden age of comics that have been lost to time.

They never got their own titles (they were always part of a pulp anthology series), which meant their stories were limited to 6 pages or so. In this 32-page comic we get to give them a chance to breathe and really tell their story. And, while this is a one-shot, if enough people like what we're doing we'd love to explore these characters further.
